Santa Monica Pier x Lakers & Dodgers is a branded content project produced in partnership with the Santa Monica Pier and built around Los Angeles basketball and baseball culture, with Lakers and Dodgers prizing featured throughout the Pier midway. The piece spans the Venice Beach courts at sunrise and the Pier at peak hours, combining documentary capture, directed narrative, and an original voiceover script centered on a single carnival-hoop shot.
Shot on location across public space with a small crew and limited setup time, the work relies on available light and real conditions rather than controlled staging. The edit is structured around repetition and payoff, with the pacing of the voiceover driving the cut. The result is a short-form piece that ties two of the city's largest sports institutions to an ordinary neighborhood hoop, delivered on schedule and built for social distribution.
